Maddy’s next adventure is published in April 2008!
It’s so exciting – this is Maddy’s journey to the Dark Side and I have learned a lot by writing it.
Maddy falls for a gorgeous Goth guy, Caspar, and she’s convinced they are destined to be together.
She transforms herself into a Gothic Goddess to attract him – this involves black hair dye, eyeliner and wearing any item of clothing as long as it’s… you guessed it – black.
Just in case he doesn’t get the message she casts a love spell – but breaks the rule of magic by putting his name into the spell.
Perhaps that’s why things go so horribly wrong when they take a trip to Whitby, famous as the place where Dracula landed on a boat from Transylvania.
Is there more to the Gothic Caspar than meets the eye? Has Maddy’s magic raised a vampire and why has her friend Starr gone missing?
Omigoth!
Ask in your local library, bookshop or order from Amazon (www.amazon.co.uk) to find out more…
I visited Whitby in Yorkshire for the Goth weekend which is amazing and recommended to anyone who is interested. Goths from all over the world flock here twice a year for to meet, listen to music, buy gothic fashion and soak up the atmosphere. Wear black – if you dress as a normo you’ll look out of place!
It also helped to read lots of books and magazines on magic and spells, particularly ones written for teenagers.
One thing I would say is to treat magic with respect which is what Maddy learns in this book.
I do hope you enjoy reading Gothic Goddess – if you do then please put a review on Amazon (www.amazon.co.uk).
If you don’t then keep it to yourself and I hope you do find a book you like. There’s one out there for everyone!

Last year was a very busy year for Jamie B!
Fortunately lots of schools and libraries asked me to visit to talk to children and young people about the books.
Every year public libraries run a Reading Challenge. In 2006 had a spy theme so Jamie B was invited all over the country!
In 2007 I already have invitations to Sheffield, Nottingham and Newcastle… Who knows where else I might visit. Maybe I will bump into you one day and you’ll find out all about Jamie B…
Here are some of the areas I visited in 2006. I met lots of lovely people so thank you all for giving me a good time.
Sheffield, Hull, West Dumbarton - Scotland, Wakefield, Rotherham, East Sussex, Bolton, Worcester, Haringey, Brent, Wandsworth, Dewsbury, Kirklees, Stockport, Bournemouth, Dorset, Leeds, Surrey, Batley, Pontefract.
